Bronx-based Producer/DJ J.Rabbit signed to Household Management

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Atlanta- Household Management, who lately have been snapping up America’s top talent left and right, recently announced that they’ve added Bronx-based DnB/Dubstep bad man J.Rabbit to their roster.

If you’re not up on J’s sounds, the kid’s got skills and is nice with the Stateside jump-up as well as some pretty heavy duty dubstep bangers. Needless to say he’s come a long way from being the local resident DJ for “Club Dollhouse” in Long Beach, California a few years ago!

After the club out West closed, J.Rabbit headed for New York City, The BX aka The Bronx to be exact, and opened up a free Drum n’ Bass weekly in Times Square, NY every Wednesday night dubbed “Bassalicious”, and founded Beats Anonymous Productions.

At Bassalicious, J.Rabbit shared the stage with popular DJs such as DJ Dara, DB, Terravita and other local favorites such as DJ Odi and Jen Mas. All along this time, J.Rabbit while playing parties and making a name for himself was learning to produce music with the aid of Terravita/Hot Pink Delorean’s, Mr. Matt. Then in 2009, his first remix was released “B.Rich feat. Reese – Make Me Dance (J.Rabbit Remix)” on Party Like Us Records.

Shortly after this, his first EP “I’m So Happy” was released on Reid Speed’s label “Play Me Records”, he also has releases with Hot Pink Delorean’s label “Delorean Music Company” and NYC jump up icon, Hokilla’s label “Digital Terror Records“.

To help celebrate the signing to Household, J.Rabbit hit everyone off with Household Management February 2010 Mix for your enjoyment.

MIXTAPE MADNESS: DJ Unison feat DENT- Greatest Songs You Never Heard

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

dent_gsynh_back

For those of you that don’t know, I got my start as a battle MC back in Colorado in the early ’90′s and during that time, there was one name that was synonymous with dope MCs, and that name was and still is Rhyme Skwadrun. We were a spin-off crew of the Lordz of Finesse and Radiobums crews that were running the Mile High hiphop scene during that era.

For heads in the Denver metro area, one of the Rhyme Skwadrun MCs, DENT is one of the more prolific MCs around and is known for holding it down from cyphers to the booth.

Denver’s DJ Unison got together with DENT and rocked out a banger of a mix tape, “Greatest Songs You Never Heard“- an hour of pure, unadulterated hiphop. If you’re a fan of the Rawkus 50, Mos Def, Brooklyn Academy, The Lyricist Lounge, etc., then you definitely need to check this mix out.

Here’s a little treat courtesy of San Diego’s Dub Chamber Records for all of you out there!

Straight From The Chamber Vol. 7 was recorded live during Dub Chamber’s Sound Murder event down in San Diego at The Ruby Room.

SFTC Vol 7 features none other than OG LA Junglist DJ R.A.W. (aka B-Boy 3000 aka 6Blocc) hitting you with nothing but the pure ragga DnB business with Bulletproof SD’s MC Tez handling microphone duties in the mix.
